Who Are We?
We’re a regional chapter of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR). We’re university and college faculty members, professional practitioners, governmental researchers and graduate students. Our shared frame of reference: the study of public opinion. We’re a student-friendly organization, dedicated to helping develop the next generation of public opinion researchers and scholars. We list from coast to coast – Washington (state) to Washington (DC).
What We Do
The highlight of our year is our annual conference hosted in Chicago each November. You can learn more about our conference here. We also regularly host webinars, mixers, and other events. We often host these in conjunction both with AAPOR and with other regional chapters.
MAPOR Fellows are those MAPOR members who have made significant contributions to MAPOR through scholarship, service to the organization or other means. They’re selected by the MAPOR Executive Board. A list of all MAPOR fellows can be found here.
MAPOR Fellows also administer and judge the annual Student Paper Competition.
MAPOR Strategic Plan
On October 15, 2014, MAPOR Executive Council adopted MAPOR’s current Strategic Plan. This strategic plan is to identify key initiatives that are underway at MAPOR and set the stage for MAPOR’s growth for the next five years (through 2019). To update our members on our progress on meeting the goals and strategic objectives included in the Plan, in November 2017 MAPOR Executive Council released a Progress Update. Click here to read more.
