Candidates for Office: 2026-2027

It’s about time to elect the next MAPOR Executive Council members to begin their roles in November 2026. We currently have two positions open for election: Vice-President/President-Elect and Associate Conference Chair. After a month of open nominations, we’ve got two wonderful candidates running for office this year. Their bios are pasted below. We will open the election next week!

Vice-President/President-Elect

Lindsey Witt-Swanson | NORC

Lindsey Witt-Swanson is a Senior Research Director in the Public Affairs and Media Research Department at NORC at the University of Chicago working with federal agencies, non-profit organizations, for-profit companies, and academics. Lindsey has served on MAPOR council since 2019 first serving as an at-large council member, then Secretary-Treasurer, and currently as Conference Chair. She has been a member of AAPOR and MAPOR since 2011. She received her BA in Political Science at Creighton University and her MS in Survey Research and Methodology at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.

Associate Conference Chair

Alexandros Christos Gkotinakos | Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

Alexandros Christos-Gkontinakos

Alexandros Christos Gkotinakos is a Research Fellow at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he also completed his Master’s in Political Analysis, and is currently affiliated with several EU-funded projects focusing on comparative public opinion, political trust, and survey methodology. He has attended all MAPOR conferences since 2022 and served on the Council since 2024, primarily through the Online Learning Committee. Alexandros has been involved in organizing several academic conferences, public discussions, and outreach events around elections, polling, and research data infrastructures.
